Kim Åstrand

Having worked at the largest law firms in Finland, Kim Åstrand has gained over 20 years of experience from business law related assignments.

Early in his career, Kim was involved in simplifying a large corporate group with over 20 subsidiary and sister companies into a single holding company and one subsidiary. The trade register had never before encountered such a complex merger arrangement, and executing the process required excellent coordination skills and the ability to maintain control over every detail at all stages of the various phases of the merger.

Later in his career, Kim managed a complex hotel construction project in Sweden, where he represented the Finnish ownership party. The project spanned over several years, from the initial contract negotiations to the completion of the hotel. During the project, he acted as a legal coordinator between the Finnish and Swedish business cultures and business law systems.

Kim Åstrand has also assisted management in various large companies with business law matters. Among other tasks, he has helped draft and review companies’ commercial agreements, such as supply agreements, distribution agreements, and various cooperation agreements. He has handled corporate and real estate acquisitions as well as other complex real estate arrangements. Additionally, he has assisted shareholders in drafting shareholder agreements and provided advice ahead of general meetings.

Many companies have realized the benefit of having a lawyer review agreements before they are signed, thereby minimizing the risk of disputes caused by ambiguously worded contracts.
